This sticker had been lodged in the esophagus. Similar stickers have become lodged between the vocal cords.
Plastic toy parts (such as tiny pegs from board games or very small pieces of LEGO®) may fly past the vocal cords, into the bronchi.
This has also happened many times with Mardi Gras beads.[Ref:24]
